Hi Ernest & Mega! Could you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Ernest,

I'm an architectural and interior photographer, and I consider myself fortunate to visit diverse and fascinating places.

Hey, I'm Mega.

I like experimenting with different materials to create interesting things.

Ernest, how did you start your career in photography, especially in interior & architecture?

I try to start everything with what I love. From my perspective, architecture and interior design are intriguing, but unfortunately, I initially pursued a degree in Visual Communication Design. So, one way I entered this field was through my photography skills. Early in my career, I built a portfolio with photos of public spaces and Airbnb homes.

Mega, We first met you when you were working on your project called Grate, where you created small objects using various material exploration. We think that you are a multi-talented person and we heard that you are currently starting your new venture in interior styling. Can you tell us more about your new journey?

Aww, thanks! Maybe it's because your idea is so challenging, and I love exploring to make something fun! Hahaha.

Honestly, I never imagined I'd become an interior stylist, but because I often saw interesting home arrangements while accompanying Ernest for photos and helping him, I eventually gave it a try, and I love it! Since I enjoy creating and buying mostly home decor items, I've learned to arrange and transform a good space into something comfortable and homey.

Based on each of the career paths you both choose, who or what are your biggest influences and why?

      Ernest:

Simone Bossi, all of his photos seem to have a feeling even though sometimes he captures angles that people might not notice. When I see the projects he photographs, I think, when will I get such projects? 🤣

      Mega:

So many things! I really enjoy watching DIY content, and almost every day, I see unique items or beautifully arranged spaces with different and distinctive features either when I'm working, watching, or on social media. It feels great every time I successfully complete a project.

Ernest, which one of  your photography projects is your most favorite? Mega, do you have any personal favorites among Ernest’s projects?

      Ernest:

Now, this is a tough question because there are so many projects I like, and each project has its uniqueness. Maybe if asked for a top 10, it would be more doable.

      Mega:

It's challenging to choose a favorite project since each one possesses its own beauty and uniqueness influenced by the site, owner, and designer. However, I feel a sense of love and pride when Ernest can perceive the beauty and uniqueness in each project through his uncommon photography perspective.

As a couple, you both often work together on some projects, including Normal Estate’s brand campaign. We think that you guys are a brilliant team! How is it like working with your spouse? Are there any valuable lessons you have learned from your experience of working together?

      Ernest:

It's a mix of emotions, hahaha. So, it's challenging to separate the joy and difficulty because we both experience and are involved in it. What's quite enjoyable is that we get to visit interesting places together. Perhaps what's challenging is separating work issues during times when we should be resting or relaxing.

        Mega:

Since we're both in the same field, it's enjoyable working with Ernest because we understand what needs to be done.

We both have our own preferences, so we've learned to listen, avoid pushing our own ideas too hard, discuss, and find a middle ground. To keep things smooth, we let the person in charge of that task make the final decision to prevent any arguments.

Additional note: Don't talk about work when we're tired and hungry. Hahahaha

We approached you both to work with us on our brand campaign. Normal Estate might not be your usual type of client. What came to your mind when we explained our intentions back then? How do you see Normal Estate as a brand?

At first, we hesitated because we had never worked on a project like this. But after Levina and Jiva shared the presentation deck of Normal Estate, we were immediately captivated by their perspective and how they envision the future of Normal Estate. We also liked how Levi and Jiva named each perfume, the way they think about packaging, and every detail to provide an experience that leaves a lasting impression, down to the delightful fragrance of the perfume. 💙

Mega, we really loved working with you for our collectible mementos that we launched a few weeks ago! In creating deco objects, what did you enjoy the most during the process?

I also really love working on exciting projects with you all! The most thrilling part is when I make molding! Because to achieve the shape and finishing we want, I have to tinker with it several times, and it can be quite challenging. When successful, it feels so joyful! :)

Aside from your current career path, is there anything else you would like to explore?

            Ernest:

Maybe just increasing the amount of traveling.

            Mega:

Traveling! And staying for a while in many countries.

Lastly, Name three of your favorite books / movies (you can choose one category) of all time?

            Ernest:

Catch Me If You Can, After Life, Black Mirror

            Mega:
